Job Description:

This position supports all intellectual property functions at ACT Genomics. The incumbent will help ACT Genomics build a strong foundation in IP demonstrated by patent application filings as the company grows. Specific responsibilities include:

• Drafting of patent applications, patent prosecution, and translation

• Patent and literature search for IP landscape and freedom-to-operate analysis

• Communicate with internal R&D to discuss IP issues and inventions

• Communicate with outside IP counsel and senior management to guide IP strategy

• Support review of contracts

Requirements:

• Biology Ph.D. or equivalent in life sciences

• Strong background in molecular biology assay development, such as NGS, qPCR, cytogenetics, flow cytometry, and multiplex PCR assays.

• Excellent English writing skills

• Demonstrated interest in IP matters

• Knowledge in cancer genomics, bioinformatics, and next-generation sequencing is a plus.

• Experience in molecular diagnostics is a plus
